Face and Neck Straps

Face and Neck Straps

The soft tissues on the cheekbones and the cheek, chin and neck areas begin to sag with the natural ageing process. The movement of the tissue on the cheekbones gives a tired and decrepit expression. The best method to reverse this cycle is to pull back the sagging areas.

While young patients who have the symptoms of ageing on their face are suitable patients for facial tightening operations, there are also other methods in which tightening is performed through stitching and may be used for those patients who do not want a big operation.

The tightening via stitches can be applied to the eyebrows, temples and mid-face as well as the corners of the jaw and neck. Face tightening is appropriate for middle-aged individuals who have recently begun to experience sagging on the eyebrows, mid-face and neck but do not want any surgery.

The tightening operations are performed under local anesthesia in an operating room. The operation process takes an average of half an hour. The patients may turn back to their home after an hour. The operated area may be supported by plasters for a few days, depending on the method used. The patients may feel tension on their face for a week after the operation. There might be purpleness and swelling for the first two days. The patient may continue his active life 2-3 days after the operation.

It is suggested that the patient does not use aspirin (a blood thinner) and does not smoke for 3 weeks after the operation. If the patient has pain, he may use the painkillers suggested by his doctor. However he should not use any medicines unless prescribed by the doctor.
